Author Under Linux: SATA HDs don't make DriveLed flash ..

I have a weird behaviour and I'm curious to investigate and see if
anybody had the same problem, or just has any idea for this issue.

I have a system AMD based, with A7N8X-E Deluxe MoBo, with 1 P-ata HD and
2 S-ata HD on motherboard's Sata interface (Silicon Image 3112a Serial
Ata controller).
When I work on Windows XP, I can see the DriveLed flashing on activity
for any disk.
When I work on Linux (actually a Fedora Core 5 w/ kernel 2.6.17_fc5) I
see the red HD led flashing only on P-ata disk activity, BUT NOT FOR
S-ATA ones!!!

It sounds like the windows' sata driver make the HD-led flash during
sata disks' activity, while linux driver doesn't..

But I don't have any other ideas.

Any suggestions ?

Tnx in adv.
