VPN - PPTP on Suse

I'm trying to setup PPTP on a Suse Linux server and I am having
trouble. What is happening is, I get connected get assigned an
internal ip address, but I cannot ping any device on the internal
network. I can ping the internal suse linux server ip address but that
is it. The server's internal ip address is 10.1.1.254 and the assigned
ip address is 10.1.1.100 If I disable the firewall it does not matter.
Any help would be appreicated.
