VPN router without firewall?
|

| I'm looking for a VPN router device, but I do not need for it to have any
firewalling functions. I already have a fully functional firewall
(including NAT for my internal network), which I will use to redirect the
VPN traffic to the DMZ port. From there I would like to connect to the VPN
router which will then bridge the traffic to my internal network. All of
the VPN routers I have seen so far (Netgear, Linksys, etc.) all are designed
to be the primary firewall/router/VPN gateway for networks...
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Peter

| You will not find anything that doesn't have some level of NAT =
functionality. It doesn't mean you need to use the NAT features. You =
would likely want to install the VPN hardware in parallel with the =
firewall. You would need to make sure that the only traffic being =
passed by the VPN hardware relates to VPN tunnels.
I have implemented this scenario with Nortel Contivity 1010 equipment to =
give one example.
