I am trying to setup VPN using Windows XP connection wizard. I can
setup the server and client fine and the VPN connects put I can't see
anything or connect to any shared drives or computers on the remote
LAN.

I have static IP on both ends using DSL from QWEST. The connection
sends and receives packets but I cannot see any of the computers on the
remote LAN.

I've tried changing various TCP/IP settings to no avail and have tried
switching my local LAN to a diferent IP as was suggested in an early
post.(ie. 192.168.17.x) still no results.
Any help would be great!

I had a similar problem within my local lan (shared drives on
XP, trying to see them from SuSE), and the shared drives only
appeared visible on the other pc after I switched off the
firewall of that pc.

Hello,

according to microsoft, you can only see the remote devices when you
do a computer search using the "search for computers" menu option.

Using the "remote desktop" or other terminal client allows you to see
and map remote devices in a more effective way.
