| Hi again. I thought i would ask again for some help with this SLOW VPN
performance. As it stands right now this is a list of equipment and
setup..
Home:
Win XP pro, The greenbow VPV client, Linksys WRT54G router. Cable
modem. The linksys is set for IPsec passthrough.
Office
Win XP Home, Linksys BEFVP41 VPN Router, DSL modem which is 3megs
downstream and 384kbps upstream..
I can connect and get an active tunnel but im just finding it to slow
to be practical at all. Is there any settings that i might want to
look at that could be causing this? If there is, can you be specific
on what to do...im a newbie to the VPN thing. Thanks in advance..

I assume that your home ADSL upload speed is only 256K? If so, you have
a VPN working over a link which is 256k home to office and 384K office
to home. With tunnel overheads, the speed will be less than this. Slow
if you are used to 3 Meg.
Best to check that you don't have a packet fragmentation problem making
it extra slow, so check MTU of devices across the path.

| Should the MTU be the same across the whole path even thought they run
from different systems.. ie..one cable and one Dsl? Or should i set
each lan to the best MTU?
