Whats the latest on Altopia (altopia.com)? I know years ago it was
considered a "premium" usenet service and users privacy was their utmost
concern. I don't see anything about them anymore however, I did go to
their website and by todays standards, their pricing seems a bit steep
at $12 a month for a 32kbps connection, $48 a month for 128kps connection!

I remember the owner (I forget his name) used to take an active roll in
these newsgroups. Website looks the smae as I remember it.

Check out these two, they're anonymous and tout all the bells and whistles:

www.titannews.com
www.meganetnews.com

The prive is very reasonable for what you get.

different port than 119

I have heard good things about meganet news. Do you know what kind of
retention do they normally have in binary and non binary groups?

It sounds like it's 30+ days, 20 days for binaries, here's the link to
read about what they do: http://www.meganetnews.com/why.html

So what do you recommend? Flomax, TURP, TUMT, VLAP,
TUNA, or something fancy?
