Good news: it's already ported.

Bad news: it's (still?) impossible to
- post to Usenet;
- send non-ASCII text data.

There are two ways to solve second problem:
- pass "charset" field when sending "Content-type: text/plain"
or
- always use "Content-type: text/plain; charset=utf-8"
when sending text data to SMTP recipient.
