They're not missing really. A new remailer will always look like that
in the stats.

Never worry about the most recent one (you'll often have 8 or 9
as the most recent, as the ping has been sent but not yet
received back).
You'll occasionally loose a ping and get an 8 or a 9 somewhere
because you are middleman and don't send the respose directly.
Someone else could loose it rather than you and occasionally
they will - or a remailer in the chain will have bad keys / you
will have old keys, etc.
Worry if you get a low number consistently across all pingers at
the same point in time. That means something went wrong and you
lost some mail. Something small probably happened to yours 3
days ago as you can see by the 7/8/9 in that column across all
pingers.
If your machine was down for a bit you won't actually loose
anything, but there will be a consistent delay across all
pingers which will show in the left hand column as a higher
number, or even a letter.

Very true amigo. In my case, I sometimes get pings that are malformed and
can't be re-sent. If you look at my stats at
http://beta-stats.bananasplit.info/twisty.txt
you will see some pings have been missed by some pingers. Those were not
the fault of the re-mailer being down. They may have been malformed pings
or other problems along the way. Some pings do end up in the trash and
can't be re-sent. And if you notice, the few missed pings were on different
days by different pingers.
I was out of town a lot during that 12 day period so know nothing had
changed in the re-mailer operation.
