DSS keys and Mixmaster problem

| Mixmaster for *nix, version 2.9.1, compiled as a client with ncurses.
I am trying to create a nym address at hod.aarg.net server, I have
Hod's keys in GPG pubring, however, upon re-entering mixmaster
pashphrase to complete the whole process, the client complains about
Hod's key: "Notice: Key <config@hod.aarg.net> not found", and so the
client is unable to send a configuration request to the Hod server.
Close examination of pubring.gpg shows both Hod's 'send' and 'config'
keys are there quietly sitting in th pubring waiting to be used,
so far unsuccessfully.
My mix.cfg contains PGPPUBRING and PGPSECRING with absolute paths
pointing to gpg keys.
I am not a newbie with this client, and I am not a newbie with nym
creation process, I used to hand-roll config requests years ago,
but this is the first time I am trying to make a nym address with
DSS/DH keys. I've created nyms earlier with this mixmaster client
as well as earlier versions using RSA keys and a classig pgp, and
all went flawlessly. Something is wrong here with DSS keys. This
mixmaster version uses OpenPGP module so it should be able to handle
DSS. Please help.

My guess, but that is only a guess, is that Mixmaster 2.9x cannot read
at the very least your GPG secring.gpg keyring. PGP 8.x also has
problems with GnuPG IIRC. It is very hard to use the same keyring for
both programs.
Also, there is a Mixmaster 3.0b2 version out now, that is probably to be
preferred. The pubring.asc that comes with it has "GnuPG v1.0.7
(GNU/Linux)" as its version.
I would just use the pubring.asc's that come with the stats pages and
have mixmaster generate your secret (nym) keys for you.
The files might also have different names under mixmaster than they have
for gpg.
