which Nymserver to use?
|

| Hello,
I would appreceate your opinion on which NymServer I should use when
setting up my nym with QS.
I have read as much as I can find on this subject. Now, I want a up to
date opinion from people in "the know" if you don't mind.
Which of the following are the most reliable, secure/anonymous?
1. blackhole.riot.eu.org (negatives: downtime and run with non-standard
nymserver settings)
2. nym.alias.net (negatives: old PGP key and local remailer [I
believe])
3. nym.xg.nu
4. nym.xganon.com
5. redneck.gacracker.org (negatives: I think there down, but I'm not
sure)
6. Are there other NymServers I didn't list that you would recommend?
Would it be preferable to use a server located outside the US?
Thanks alot,

Thank you for the help and I'd be gald to use your server :D
I created a DSS key (maybe I should have made a RSA key?) and imorted
your key to QS "Cyberpunks" chain. And my nym key is imported to my QS
chain.
When I try to create the Nym and I enter my Nym name and select
nym.panta-rhei.eu.org as my Nym server I get the following error
message:
"Your Nym's address must contain a vaid nym server domain.
Currently these are:
nym.panta-rhei.eu.org
nym.alias.net
etc
etc"
An example of my PGP key ID is "MyNym <MyNym@nym.panta-rhei.eu.org>"
Thank you for your help

nym.komite.net
nym.at
The best is hod.aarg.net though. It's been up years, very reliable.
No downtime that I can think of.

It doesn't really matter where it is. The security of a nym is based
on how it works and not where it's located. All a police raid could
do is retrieve your encrypted reply block. As it's encrypted they
still have no idea who you are or where your mail gets delivered to.
Just make sure that your reply block contains remailers that aren't
all in the same jurisdiction if you're concerned. That way they can't
all be forced to decrypt the reply block.
And if you use a newsgroup such as a.a.m then no matter even if they
compromise every remailer in the reply block, they still can't read
the mail and still don't know who you are.

Do users of your nym get to use your mail2news server without hashcash
when using send@nym.panta-rhei.dyndns.org?
