Hello,
Is there a standalone program ? One problem I had was that the latest
version of PGP wouldn't work with the older programs for anonymity.
The tutorial looks good so I will have another go later.

I have stuck with 6.5.8 through the years and it still works fine
with QS.
Do you really *need* the absolute latest version of PGP?

If you were having problems putting all the modules together, I found
the easiest way to do it is to let QS do it all.
uninstall any copy of QS, its modules, and mixmaster that you might
have installed.
Go to the QS site and download QS. Let QS do the prompting and
downloading of the modules and mixmaster. It will download and put
mixmaster in its proper place. All you have to do then is extract the
zipped modules right in the QS directory.
If you do it that way it's foolproof.
You might really consider getting rid of the newest, shiniest
whiz-bang PGP and uninstall it. Install 6.5.8 instead.
Just a thought.

| QS handles PGP 8 fine and probably PGP 9 as well.

absolutely NOT untill it is
a) source peer reviewed by the most competent, paranoid crypto people
around.
b) provided with an spgp.dll that will allow it to work with JBN2
untill then: PGP 6.5.8ckt build 09b2 is the flavor of choice.

That wasn't the point of my answer.
He is having a problem. We all know that 6.5.8 works. Period.
It merely eliminates that chance of the latest PGP not working with
something or other on his machine.
I just hate to see someone missing out on being able to use QS when
it is so simple to install and use when following the proven method
that has worked for everyone else in the past.

6.5.8 suffers from the ASCII Armor bug by Chris Anley though..
<http://www.atstake.com/research/adv...1/a040901-1.txt>
as it does suffer from the Czech private key attack and the Multiple
user ID (or Otterloo) attack. Just see the "A security analysis of
Pretty Good Privacy" paper by "Sieuwert van Otterloo".
6.5.8ckt08 fixes the most serious bugs for remailer users. Also ckt will
handle MDC packets correctly (which GnuPG can sometimes generate and
which plain 6.5.8 cannot decrypt).
Take care,
Thomas
