Now, now. Freedom of Speech isn't always easy. I mean deciding
between the free speech rights of the flooder and stalker vs. those
of their victims. When you truly believe in Freedom of Speech, the
decisions become difficult; it's when you are a Speech Nazi that they
become simple, and you side against the flooders and stalkers in a
brainless, knee-jerk fashion.
Now that I see the Truth, I have to make the hard decisions. At the
moment that involves how to handle stalkers, and I have tentatively
decided to side with them, pending further advice.
I'm happy to add that flooding should not be a problem: I forgot what
a good job I did with my little VB module; it has tests for
duplicates among posts, and for excessive posts to a newsgroup within
a given period of time. Between those two tests, I should be able to
weed out most flooding messages, while allowing through all of the
legitimate messages to a newsgroup.
