How on earth did you manage to use dizum mail2news with Mixminion?

I cheated a bit.

I modifed and recompiled the Mixminion source to allow a Newsgroups
header. The downside of this is that both the client and the server
functionality needs changing: The client to allow a --newsgroups
option, and the server to not filter the header out before sending to
the destination.

Is there any Mixminion devs on here?

or anyone that KNOWS a Mixminion dev?

In hopes that these changes can be integrated into mixminon so that the whole
network will operate that way.

Seems like a trivial change to me. They could probably work it out
themselves (if they wanted to)..

Zax could distribute the client though ;-p

It is a very trivial change. Nick's code is so well written and
commented that it was easy to add the Newsgroups functionality. I'll
mention to him that I've done it, but no point in releasing it until the
next Mixminion version comes out.

As I said previously, this isn't just a client mod. The server strips
unrecognised headers and will not allow the header to pass. It's
probably better to leave Nick to decide where in his release cycle this
functionality should come.

Granted, it's his project.

Please tell him that there's a lot of us who would like to see that
functionality added soon.

thanks

Yep
I don't think Nick would thank me for circulating mavrick, unsigned
versions of his Mixminion code.

It's (L)GPL, isn't it? So as long as you credit the authors and specify
that you changed the files.. That is how all the different *nix flavors
came around AFAIK. There will just be a new 'Zax' flavored mixminion
client (and server, which already runs if I understand your posts
correctly).
