Author Questions regarding setting up a "server"

I've long thought about setting up some kind of remailer
type service, but the requirement for constant attention
to the program (if there is one) has daunted me. Also,
I'm using a cable service. What does this mean for
setting things up? (I note that most of the addresses
don't look like private residences)

As for the type of service, I was toying with reliable
but I'm now considering something more like TOR or
Mixminion. Or perhaps I shouldn't.

What are the risks of each to me personally (assuming
a middleman remailer)? I'm not worried about the
computer - it will be a dedicated computer.

Sorry if these questions seem naive. I am naive when
it comes to running some kind of server. It may
be impossible given my connection, and I'd rather not
tempt the storm troopers, but I do wish to contribute
if possible.
