Author Mixmaster 3.0b2 unaffected?

I just checked the source and couldn't make much sense of it. On Windows
it insists that a directory called zlib-1.1.4 is used, while the
makefile for nix has an error message that says 'Use 1.1.4 or higher'.

Guess it differs from platform to platform.

I would suggest all remops running 3.0b2 downgrade to 1.1.4 to be safe
for a while (unless they are on any of the patched nix systems there are
out there).

Seems this bug isn't so bad after all, (but I wish it would have been
fixed by now!).

Hope nobody got upset about my initial firm warnings.. Feel free to
flame me for them..

Regards,
Thomas

Everyone gave them all the attention and credibility they were worth.
That's why no one but you is posting about them.

In the future, stick to video games and meds.

That is because I am the only one here in the group that understands
what 'remotely exploitable' and 'buffer overflow' means!

Yeah, you are so much smarter than the rest of us. None of the remops nor
any of the other regulars here know what 'remotely exploitable' and
'buffer overflow' mean. Thank GOD we have a psychotic unmedicated dabbler
in computer security to explain to us.

Maybe if you gave some more incorrect advice to someone just getting
started, or even better, maybe you feel the need to share some more song
lyrics with us so we all know you listen to only the cooooooolest music.

Well, maybe some regulars and remops do, but they sure as hell didn't
post here about it! (or even bothered to correct me about different
versions and different operating systems, including theirs, that might
or might not have been affected). I had to do all the hard work of
verifying and studying the sources myself!

<can't resist temptation>
Like The downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails?

He couldn't believe how easy it was
he put the gun into his face
bang!
(so much blood from such a tiny hole)

Problems do have solutions you know
A lifetime of XXXXing things up fixed in one determined flash

everything is blue in this world
the deepest shade of mushroom blue
all fuzzy, spilling from my head

Not that I am suggesting you to do anything of course..
