Whilst writing some new scripts today, I came across a number of
anomalies in various pingers. These aren't strictly wrong, but they are
different from what all the other pingers report. Apologies for the
long line lengths.

Reliable does not correctly flag its Mixmaster capabilities and does not
include the "sub-flags" for N (news) of p (NNTP) and m (Mail2News).
Some remailers have inconsistencies between their capstring and Mixmaster key flags.

To benefit Mixmaster clients BiKiKii makes corrections to those key flags;
assuming that the remailer-conf capstring is correct.

Ciao!

Hi Bikikii
Sorry for not responding to this sooner, was a busy weekend.

I agree, your stats are actually more representitive of the remailer
functionality than the other pingers which just accept what the
remailers state as their functionality. So far as I know, the
sub-flags are only there for informational purposes; I don't think
clients ever select remailers based on the posting methodology, just on
the fact they can post.

I was having some conversations with Panta and Drsnoid recently
regarding Post directives. The whole situation is a bit messy at the
moment with some remailers falsely reporting their posting capabilities
and others having dead mail2news gateways for their Nm methods. Then
there's the mixmaster problem with dest-blocking mail2news gateways.
Some remailers are also (apparently) dest-blocking mail2news gateways on
purpose.

I'll try and pull together some reports on these which might help
improve the situation. It would be beneficial to users if they could
use a Post directive for posting instead of hard-coding m2n gateways.
