I wonder if any of you fellows would care to test the eelnym mini-nym?

I've got it running again after a long layoff. I tested the basic functions and everything looks good, but it would be very helpful if some outside tests were run.

All you need to do is grab a dss or rsa key, if you have one lying around, or create one, and send it to config@eelnym.yi.org.

So if you have a key, fester@whitehouse.gov, you will end up with a nym 'from' address of fester@eelnym.yi.org.

Send the email to config@eelnym.yi.org with this as the body, starting in column 1:

create
subject: anygibberishwillwork

your key

For example:

create
subject: ea9f24b4a7d6ef63g871

If it processes correctly, a message will be sent to alt.anonymous.messages with a subject of ea9f24b4a7d6ef63g871

Thereafter, if somebody sends an email to fester@eelnym.yi.org, it will be encrypted to your key and sent to alt.anonymous.messages with a subject of ea9f24b4a7d6ef63g871

That's all you need for a basic nym. The message, below, goes into more detail if you want to try some additioanl parameters.

This is a periodic posting about the eelnym Mini-Nym.

If you want to have a replyable 'from' address while remaining
anonymous, then using a Nym is a good way to do it.

The problem with Nyms, however, is that they are difficult to set up.

The eelnym Mini-Nym takes care of that problem. All you need to do
is to create a key in the form: somename@something, and send it to
config@eelnym.yi.org. Here's the format of the message:

create
subject: somegibberish
[Optional paramerters - see below]

your key

It will be added to the nym database within 15 minutes of its arrival
here, and you may then receive mail using the nym.

Some notes:
No matter what your key, your 'from' address will be somename@eelnym.yi.org.

So if you have a key lying around called fester@xyz.net, then you can use that, and your 'from' nym address will be fester@eelnym.yi.org.

The place where you receive mail is alt.anonymous.messages. When looking for mail sent to you, you should download all messages from aam, looking for the one with the subject you specified.

If you want to make sure the config message stays encrypted until it gets to my harddrive, then, after you have the message written, encrypt the whole thing to the key for the eelbash remailer

If you don't have the key on your keyring, you can send an email to remailer@eelbash.yi.org, with remailer-key in the subject, and you'll get the key in a return message.

Anyhow, once the config message gets here, the nym will be created immediately, and a confirmation message sent to alt.anonymous.messages.

- From then on, when you post to a newsgroup, or send an email message, and your return address is fester@eelnym.yi.org, then, if somebody replies, their reply will go to eelnym, and it will be encrypted to your key and remailed to alt.anonymous.messages,
with a subject of whatever you used for 'subject' when you created the nym.

Optional Items

Encrypt: some conventional passphrase

The 'encrypt: ' conventional passphrase is not needed to set up and use your nym, but I recommend it.

The reason is, that by supplying the conventional passphrase, messages that are sent to your nym will be encrypted twice: first to your key, and then conventionally, using the passphrase. This prevents somebody from connecting a nym with a given subject t
o your key, which they could do if the message were not encrypted a second time.

This means you will need to do two decryptions, but I recommend it anyway.

ADDID01 TO ADDID05

addid01: extraname1,extrasubject1
addid02: extraname2,extrasubject2
- - up to addid05:
Code one or more of these when you create the nym to get up to 5 additional nym names/subjects. It is like having 6 nyms instead of 1.
Code as in the example, above, with a comma separating nym name and subject.
If duplicates are found for any of the nym names, they will not be added

So, if you code, for example: addid01: Philty_Mcnasty,Restaurateur

then, if somebody sends a message to: Philty_Mcnasty@eelnym.yi.org, the message will be encrypted to your key and sent to alt.anonymous.messages, with the subject: Restaurateur.

And so on, for up to 4 more additional names/subjects, for a total of 6 names/subjects for one key.

NEWSNAME: SOME.NEWSGROUP

The default newsgroup that nym messages are sent to is alt.anonymous.messages. You can choose a substitute with this parameter. Only one newsgroup can be designated, and it must contain 'anonymous' or 'binaries' in its name.

Always test your nyms after creating. They are usually made within 15 minutes of the config request getting here, but that varies, depending.

Man, you don't want none of that no matter how simple he makes it. It's a
trap.

In addition to this arrogance, remember he also publicly campaigned for the
delisting of Austria and Dizum. He also told us that because of his
breeding, he was superior to the rest of us.

This all came after his failed attempt to institute hate-speech filters and
his "editing" of his users posts. This "superior champion of privacy" used
to read and edit users posts to make sure they met his criteria for
political correctness.

Then came his admission that he was unaware that mixmaster was a server as
well as a client, and that he had no clue what a "partitioning attack" was,
despite having run a remailer for "...over 15 years" (a blatant, bald-faced
LIE).

So his remailer was cut off from the rest of the network, become the one
and only remailer in the history of the network to receive a Remailer Death
Penalty, or RDP. Shortly thereafter, he tried to sneak back in as "Bushwa".
He was busted. Then he came back with "greatwall", despite the fact that
remailer names are supposed to observe an 8 character limit.

So now he is back again, as Asmodeus, although he is still crippled by only
being listed by 8 remailers, and 2 pingers.

His "career" as a remop is studded with examples like the ones above. If
you can find them, you can check out posts about his monitoring and
filtering behavior on past remailers he has run. The ones we know about
are:

eelbash
axloltl
axolotl2
cheshire
congo
bog
bogg
eelbash (again)
bushwa
greatwall

Because we know no better. We are all inbred Neanderthals ruled by our
gonads.
That's the ONLY possible explanation in the Kingdom of Eelbash.
