I have it offline and disconnected from the Internet at the time. I ran into
problems with my IP being on several blocklists that would not allow me to
connect to 3 other remailers through blacklisting of my IP.
My IP got on the blacklist because I was a Tor exit node from early August
until I shut it down to configure a dedicated Tor node and remailer. Someone
apparently abused the Tor network through Port 9050 which I had left open in
my ExitPolicy. Apparently some people complained and I my IP showed up on the
blacklist, not that of the offender.
I am hoping that DHCP will assign me a new IP. I bought a new Modem/Router so
my MAC address will change. MY ISP DHCP leases run for 4 days. I shut it down
a 9:00 PM EST, 9/26/05.
So, I'll be offline until I get this resolved. (Hopefully a new IP will fix
it).
The only Internet access I have now is from my office (where I am now). No, I
am not cheating the company by playing around on the Internet. I own the
company and have granted myself special dispensation
If anyone can see my point, if I left things as is and someone chained through
me and 1 of 3 other remailers (that refuse a connection from my IP), the mail
would bounce. I want to provide a reliable service (no pun intended Reliable,
get it .
At this time I can't make it reliable and it may drop someone's mail. That
would be very bad and I think as bad as no service at all.
Please have some patience with me, I am doing everything I can to get it going
again. Finances are not the setback. getting my IP changed is.
(it will be just my luck to draw another IP that is blacklisted)
Regards and thanks to all,
