Any idea why the Followup-To headers on my recent posts are being
deleted through dingo but not through thrasher?
Thanks.

No idea. As a matter of fact, if you look in alt.test.a, you will find to
posts I just made, one mix, one cpunk, both with Followup-To: headers set.
Both posts were sent directly through Dingo, and only Dingo.
Followup headers are intact.

Is there a limit on header line length? The missing Followup-To
headers had <5 newsgroups on them but some had lots of characters
(from long NG names).
Thanks very much for investigating this.

Some versions of Mixmaster do not support lines over 79 char. long. I'm
not aware of any inherent limit in line length besides that.
Are you using Mix or Cpunk? Are your messages handrolled, or created by JBN
or QS?

I've got another idea. If the Newsgroups header contains groups on
your stoplist, your remailer silently drops the message. (Right?)
What does it do if that header passes but the FU header contains
blocked groups? Do you drop the message or delete that header?
Thanks.

Correct.

I just tested it, and neither one, apparently.

Reliable will strip only those groups listed in the
"ANON-POST-TO - BLOCKED NEWSGROUPS" list
from the Newsgroups header.
Of the remaining groups Reliable will strip off of the "tail"
the groups which exceed the "Crosspost Maximum".

I guess that will teach me to assume and not check the source code. <g>
What BiKiKii said.

Mixmaster behaves slightly differently. By default, messages exceeding
the crosspost limit will not be posted anywhere. The same is true of
postings that have a blocked group in the distribution.
If a header.blk is used instead of a dest.blk then I guess a regex could
be used to strip the unwanted bits.
