Obviously something is badly wrong at nym.alias.net, but I'm a bit
puzzled by the error messages I've been getting from the mail2news
gateway there (and which a correspondent has reported receiving when she
tries to email that nym).

Final-Recipient: rfc822; mail2news_nospam@anon.lcs.mit.edu
Action: failed
Status: 5.0.0
Diagnostic-Code: X-Postfix; host anon.lcs.mit.edu[18.26.0.254] said: 553-There
is a problem with sender <xxx@nym.panta-rhei.eu.org>. 553-It is not
possible to send bounce messages to that address. 553 DNS query
refused (in reply to RCPT TO command)

The machine is apparently awake but refusing incoming mail on the
grounds that there is something wrong with the *sender*...

I've seen this before when using a totally bogus from address.

It's doing this with valid From: addresses also.
