Error: No remailer list! Error
|
|
| mys.shekar@gmail.com 2006-11-29, 7:13 pm |
| Hi,
I have installed Mixmaster3.0 on my FreeBSD system. When I try to
send the message (pressing "m") I get the error message : "Error: No
remailer list!"
As suggested by one of the mails in the group : I download the
following files ( from http://stats.melontraffickers.com/ )
1) mlist.html 2) mlist2.tx and 3) pubring.mix and over wrote the
ones existing in ~/Mix directory.
But still I am getting the same error.
Also I tried reinstalling Mixmaster but it was of no use.
Please let me know where I am going wrong...
Thanks,
Shekar

Hi kwatq,
Thanks for replying.. I am getting the same error, after trying "-m".
Just to mention I have installed mixmaster after creating a separate
user account as "mix".

Do you have current stats files? You need to frequently download these
from one of the pingers.

try using the mixmaster-update script that came with the package (I
think this is true on freebsd).
$ mixmaster-update --help

Mixmaster dosen't work on freebsd. Commandline works sometimes and the
messages rarly (1 of 250) get thru. Dosen't matter if you have the
latest list or not.

When executed the previous command I get the error "command not
found" .. But I tried:
mixmaster -T ( which lists the available remailers list ), which
yields:
cannot print type2.list..
What does this mean?? I have file named type2.list in my Mix directory.
[vbcol=seagreen]
I tried to download the stats files from the websites mentioned in
the mixmaster website mentioned below:
rlist (ftp://ftp.shinn.net/pub/remailer/rl...nger-1.0.tar.gz)
remlist (http://www.tahina.priv.at/~cm/hacks/)
Pingstats..
But none of the websites are opening.. Should I get the stats file by
sending an email??
Please let me know..
Thanks,
Shekar

Really?? I have been trying to set it up since 1 week..
I came across another remailer, mixminion ( remailer III). Any idea
if it works on free BSD??

No, mixmaster works fine on freebsd. Your error is either because mix
is looking for the remailer list in a different spot than it's in or
because it doesn't have proper permissions to read it.

Verify that your Internet connection is working properly, and that your
firewall (if you have one) or antivirus/antimalware software isn't
running interference.
