Anonym.OS LiveCD. unable to post to Google Groups
|
|
|
| Hello,
i booted my PC with Anonym.OS LiveCD, in order to be able to
post anonymously (in an easy manner) to Google Groups.
Unfortunately i was not even able logon to Google Groups..
As i understand Java is turned of by default, but if Java is turned
off using browsers like Firefox and Opera(over JAP) under Windows,
posting to Google Groups is no problem..
Any feedback is appreciated very much. Thank you!

http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/faq.html#q2.2
http://www.opera.com/support/search...h.dml?index=459
so in both cases: you need to install Java separately.
In order to use Java or Tor you must be able to connect to certain
servers that make up the network. From the exit server to google groups
you might also be blocked if its IP is on a blacklist.

Did you get an error? Google should be flatly telling you what the
problem is. Most likely it's Javascript or cookies, which have to be
enabled but are not by Anonym.OS defaults. I don't think Google Groups
uses Java at all but it's been a very long time since I've used that
service. Maybe they've "upgraded".

I have seen a message on Anonym.OS forums of someone saying that Tor
does not work anymore for anything because Tor has been updated and
Anonym.OS has not, as TOR comes already configured with the old version
of Tor on the live CD unless the developers release a new version there
is no much it can be done.
I want to remark that I have not tested it, I am just reproducing a
message from Anonym.OS forums, which by the way, has not been replied,
the project looks half dead but I hope I am wrong I really loved the
fact that Anonym.OS changes your MAC address on top of the proxy.

I don't know if this will help, but when I was using tor I could not
get the login link to work from the main page, but I did figure out a
way around it. I clicked on the other links and found another login
link on another page that worked. I can't remember exactly how I did it
because its been so long since I've used tor. I had to do a recovery
and never re-installed it. I liked it, but it was just too damn slow. I
think I'll try something else this time around. Maybe that Java based
one. Hope this helps. Try to find a login link on another page like I
did. After that I just checked "remember" and let the cookie take me in
after that.
