Posting to new moderated group via m2n gateways
|
|
| Igenlode W 2006-12-20, 1:18 am |
| I seem to be unable to post to the new group news.proposals.moderated
via the dizum/banana gateways -- since one of my posts did appear on one
user's ISP but never reached the moderators, I suspect that it got
posted directly rather than going through proper channels. Would it be
possible for the gateway owners to find out if their downstream peers
have the group correctly flagged as moderated, and if not, to request
it? Many people report that they have had to request their own ISP to
add the group before they could post to it, but obviously I don't have
a lot of influence over the fate of messages posted through a mail2news
gateway :-)

The moment you stop being polite, you lose credibility in what you say.

Currently mail2news.bananasplit.info supports moderated postings,
mail2news@m2n.mixmin.net does not. The group news.proposals.moderated
doesn't appear to be on the isc.org active list which is why banana
doesn't deliver it. I sync my mail2news and news services to their
list.

I believe that your problem is that the name of the newsgroup is
news.groups.proposals (which is moderated, though that doesn't appear in
the name). If such is not the case, my apologies.

Sorry - yes, it is. (That was unhelpful of me!)
I do have it correct in the headers of the messages in question, but I
misquoted it:

None of these messages ever arrived (although a follow-up to the second
one *did* -- can anyone else see Message-id
<20061215021622.0166E6387F@remailer-debian.panta-rhei.eu.org> on their
news server? because that poster apparently could, and I can't!)
