Your email address will be blocked from receiving mail via the
remailer, if you request it. See below.

If a newsgroup is being disrupted by mail coming through the
remailer the newsgroup will be temporarily blocked.

Messages which display personal information about a victim, or
which threaten him, will be blocked.

It is not possible to block anything else, because:

1. of possible legal problems in doing so

2. the operator has neither the time nor inclination to play
judge and jury to figure out what is just usenet fun and what
is harassment by a psycho.

The fetched web pages will sent to your email address.

About 200kb is the maximum per request. Anything larger will be
deleted.

These will be in html format so keep that in mind when you open
them if you do not want to go to the site(s) or download images.

===========
A FEW NOTES

Every effort has been made to block spam and flooding messages.

If you see spam or flooding coming from the remailer, please
send an email to iamupset@hotpop.com. Be sure to include 777 as
part of the subject, or the email will be deleted. This is
necessary to foil the spambots.

Why not put the blocked newsgroups in your remailer-conf file like
every single other remailer? That is the standard, and allows utilities
such as Zax's blocked newsgroups list to work.

Why are you not making them public and making people email you to
see them?

Because I use a separate program to block them.

You make a good point, however, since it is good to adhere to whatever the
local standards are.

I'll add them to the usual file and re-post.

Why would you need a separate program to block newsgroups? Reliable
handles it just fine.

It handles it in a simplistic way - either block the newsgroup or do not
block it.

By doing the blocking in a separate program, I can make the newsgroup
available to people who include a key in the subject field, or not really
block the newsgroup, but add a disclaimer or deny the use of custom from
headers, either of which presumably discourages psychos from posting to
that newsgroup.

If you email remailer@eelbash.org, with a subject of: blocked
you can see the options available. It will probably be obvious why it
makes more sense to block that way than by using Reliable.
