If you find that some remailers are blocking groups or filtering content,
simply try using other remailers to post to the same groups. And always
use different or random combinations of three or more remailers to chain
your messages. - Never - use only the end remailer to post messages.

Every remailer uses some kind of filtering or another. The m2n gateways
use sophisticate limiting and filtering techniques, too. They do this
mainly to fight spammers and other malicious abusers of the system. And
you never know when the government might step in from time to time, in
order to test their ability to intervene or shut the whole thing down
in the event of a major emergency.

So, instead of criticizing some remailer sysop for blocking injection
IPs, filtering messages or blocking groups, try using other remailers to
get your articles through. Or just wait a day or two, and try again.
Sometimes patience is all it takes to solve the “problem,” and you
realize that you were just being overly judgmental, or maybe paranoid?

Take Twisty, just as an example. As more and more groups get blocked by
the Twisty sysop, remember that there are dozens of other public remailers
to choose from that don’t block every group that Twisty blocks, if they
block any groups at all. I use Hamster to filter content, because I’ve
been targeted by usenet stalkers for many years now. I don’t care what
they say (it’s all lies), but I don’t want to be bothered by it. If some
remailers use content filtering, you can bet they’ve got a reason for doing
it. - Nobody - likes stalkers or spammers. Maybe it would be a good idea
for remailers to cooperate in trace routing serious abusers and reporting
them to the authorities. They could track them down and post their real
names and addresses, and other information, on line. Maybe Congress
will pass laws mandating it someday? Or maybe not, with freedom of speech
and trustworthiness of anonymous remailers at stake. Two evils, I guess.

Most remailers limit x-posting to a total of five groups. Bikikii allows
up to six, last time I looked. Others allow only one, or maybe three. And
unaltered or unrandomized duplicate content gets automatically re-routed
into the bit bucket after just a couple of posts, usually.

The point is that it’s not helpful to criticize any particular sysop
because you don’t like the way they run their remailer. If they’re free,
and most are, we’re really in no position to criticize them as long as
they’re not compromising anonymity.

If a remailer starts blocking groups they didn’t block before, the easy
thing to do is try switching to other remailers to reach those groups.
Sometimes it’s best not to vote with your mouth, but with your feet.

Good page, is there one that shows who owns the re-mailers, i.e.: private,

You mean like this kind of serious abuse? This bastard has
clearly been looking for someone to kill this woman for months
and is using an anonymous remailer now. We know his name is
Antonio L. Santana and he's from Camden NJ. This message was
forwarded to the Murfreesboro Police as of today. Since he
discovered anonymous posting these threats will continue,
probably will get worse. I would consider this some serious
abuse.
