Author Mixmaster vs Tor to Usenet?

You could sign up to Google
groups via Tor and a free email
account, then post to usenet
throught that google account via
Tor. Maybe not as good as mixmaster
but reasonable anonymity?

Nowhere near as good as mixmaster. Tor can't provide anonymity against
any adversary that has the capability to watch both the exit and the
entry point. Mixmaster does protect against such adversaries.

If your anonymity requirement doesn't involve a big TLA watching you,
then Tor should provide you with an excellent level of anonymity.

For the same amount of effort you could do a little better. As far as I am
aware, Google requires Java Script to be on in order to read what is in the
panell as do a lot of the free email account providers and most say that is
a bad thing for anonynimity.

Create a nym with one of the servers that don't have the word "nym" in the
domain (hod.aarg.net and blackhole.riot.eu.org are two that I know of).

Using the Tor/Privoxy combination, sign up for a free news account using
your nym.

Connect to your new news server using SocksCap and Tor.
