What has happened to Banana?
|
|
| Anonymous via the Cypherpunks Tonga Remailer 2006-03-01, 7:48 am |
| Pingers show its reliability has dropped, latency is up. The banana
pinger no longer shows any remailers at 100%. It used to be the most
reliable pinger and remailer. What gives?

The banana remailer has changed email address.
From: mix3@bananasplit.info
To: banana@mixmaster.mixmin.net
The old address will continue to work until well after all pingers have
migrated. The right-hand part of Message-ID's will become:
<........@anon.mixmaster.mixmin.net>

The banana pinger is currently showing 12 remailers at 100% with 9
others over 99%.
Of the other pingers, 10 are showing banana at 100% with 6 others
reporting is at over 99% Average latency is running at approx 1 hour
which is about where I want it to be in order to provide good anonymity
with acceptable throughput.

That wouldn't affect it. The old email address still works, and the
pingers that I have checked all have the new email address for banana
anyway.
The banana pinger is listing all _other_ remailers as below 100% too.

Earlier today, banana was the only remailer that was 100% with the rest
being 99% or under. It's fixed now.

Yeah, I used to use banana for my
updates till a few weeks ago. I
switched to a different site now.
No probs.

No worries, you should choose the pinger that works best for you. No
two provide exactly the same info.
Are you deliberately wrapping your text at <40 chars? It makes it easy
to link messages back to a common source.

Maybe yours. I doubt anybody else finds it easier to read five words and
move to the next line.
It was the best of times, it was
the worst of times, it was the
age of wisdom, it was the age
of foolishness, it was the epoch
of belief, it was the epoch of
incredulity, it was the season
of Light, it was the season of
Darkness, it was the spring
of hope, it was the winter of
despair, we had everything
before us, we had nothing before
us, we were all going direct to
heaven, we were all doing direct
the other way - in short, the
period was so far like the present
period, that some of its noisiest
authorities insisted on its being
received, for good or for evil, in
the superlative degree of comparison
only.
That would really waste a tree if you printed it.
