Why are banana and cside showing different Mixmaster versions to other remailers?

They show 3.0b2b but the only one I can find to download is 3.0b2.

<obligatory>
The extra b is what the polymorphing dll adds to the cap string when
it has successfully installed itself on a machine.

It will probably be the version compiled from source from CVS. It's
been updated far more recently than the older 3.0b2 release. The other
possible explanation is that a linux distribution like Debian has
updated their mixmaster package and changed the version slightly to
avoid clashes.

Correct. It should be packaged and released in the very near future.

(After the Polymorphing thingy has undergone haprauxymatyve testing.)

What makes you think that? Is that the words of the mixmaster dev team?

There seems to have been very little work done on it since 3.0b2 two
years ago. I'm not sure why they'd suddenly decide to release a new
version.
