Author Why Does This QS Template No Longer Work?
George Orwell

Strange, it worked fine for the longest time, now it doesn't work at all:

[start]

Fcc: outbox
Host: bingo.bananasplit.info:2525
From: nullusers@yahoo.no
Chain: banana,*,*; Copies=4
To: mail2news@anon.lcs.mit.edu,mail2news@dizum.com
X-No-Archive: Yes
Newsgroups:
Subject:

[body here]

~~

[end]

I fill in the blank fields and include the text body. The message encrypts and sends, then shows good reception and queueing at Banana, but nothing ever arrives. I've updated all the keyrings and done all the obvious things.

Same problem with my anon mail template.

Suggestions are appreciated!

I've been doing more testing, but with the same result,=20
namely that after being successfully uploaded to the banana
server, the messages just go into the void.

Surely someone can help me with this, please!

Hi there, As a test, can you try sending the message to
drooper.bananasplit.info:2525 instead of bingo? I can't see why this
would make a difference as bingo relays to the remailer but it's worth a
try.

Below is another template that you might want to try out. This will
help isolate the problem to Banana or elsewhere. Don't use it for
messages the need to be anonymous as it only uses one remailer.

Fcc: outbox
Host: drooper.bananasplit.info:2525
From: nulluser@yahoo.com
Chain: banana

It seems to work.

If this message shows up in a.p.a-s, that was the answer.

Very strange. I'd appreciate it if any other QS users could try and
relay some test messages to bingo.bananasplit.info:2525 with banana as
first hop. I don't have QS but so far as I can tell, this should work
fine.

Works fine for me, but I *do* need a valid domain in my From:header

Does not work.

Does work.

Great, thanks for the info. I've reconfigured it now to allow invalid
domain names.

I used to use things like

Host: remailerdomain.tld:2525
From: anon@remailerdomain.tld
Chain: remailer,*,*; Copies=3

By using 'anon@remailerdomain.tld' as the 'first from', you satisfy the
legit domain for the smtp and it works for whatever remailer's smtp I cared
to use.
