Are there any mini-nyms in existence
|
|
| Quodlibet 2006-05-17, 1:12 am |
| I'm new to the anonymous posting game. In my research, I found a
reference to an Asmodeus mini-nym that seemed simple to set up. Then
I found a post from the administrator dated last year that said that
he was pulling the plug on the remailer. Is there anything comparable
to the mini-nym process described below that is presently available?
Thanks!

If you just can't figure out how to configure a nym, or can't find one
that is reliable, or can't even find out where you can get lists of
nyms, their configuration addresses, their keys, etc., then consider
the
Asmodeus Mini-Nym.
It is simple to set up. Here's how:
create a pgp key in the form: somenymname@hausdave.yi.org.
The 'somenymname' part will be the name of your nym.
Send an email to config@hausdave.yi.org.
The **body** of the email should read:
create
subject: some_subject (any gibberish will do)
your key
Within 15 minutes of your mail's arrival here, the nym will be
created,
and an acknowledgement sent to alt.anonymous.messages, with the
subject
being whatever you put into 'subject:', above.
You should use asmodeus as the last remailer in the chain when you
send
the config message here, since that will keep it away from prying
eyes.
See http://remop.150m.com/nym.html for additional options.
The address of your nym will be: somenymname@hausdave.yi.org.
All messages sent to your nym will be remailed to
alt.anonymous.messages
with the subject you designated in your config message.

Due to the limitations of my computer, I am finding it difficult
to run the remailer and nym, while doing other things.
Something has to go, and it makes sense that it be the remailer
/ nym.
So, I'll close them down as of 11:59pm GMT on Tuesday - that's
tomorrow.
When I'm able to upgrade the equipment, the remailer and nym
will return, probably under a new name.

Don't mention that name again here if you want any help.
