Announce: Temporary Outage Twisty Creek

Due to some events over the past couple of weeks involving re-mailers and
security issues, I am taking down the Twisty Creek re-mailer for some
unknown period of time today. I expect to begin within 1 to 2 hours after
this post has been made.
Since an incident within the recent past has caught my attention, I have
been planning what might be a bit of an overkill in the protection of the
re-mailer PC.
I intend on using multiple types of protection. How well all of these will
play together is another worry. I don't know how long I will have to keep
the re-mailer down until they are installed and working.
For obvious reasons, I will not describe the measures I am taking other
than it will involve multiple layers of strong encryption and other self
triggering data destructive measures.
Please forgive this interruption in service but it is intended for my own
peace of mind since I do work for a living and cannot personally watch over
the re-mailer 24/7.
A little paranoia is better than none.
Regards all,
Twisty Creek Admin

| But are you now going to censor postings, sort of implied in your
previous notice?

Twisty is a great remailer. Hope it keeps on working for a long time to come.

Should be smooth sailing from here on out now that Twisty Admin got that
pesky downtime to install the NSA back door crypto breaking microchip
technology they're paying him to test.
I mean hey..... at least Thrasher had a credible cover story. ;)
<grin>
Couldn't resist.

Yeah, those darn things are a bear to install. Especially the liquid
nitrogen tanks in the backyard for super cooling of the chip. But, I didn't
insulate the pipes so I'll have free air conditioning this summer. About
darn time I get something back for my money. <grin>
My cover story was the best my handlers could come up with Being a 63rd
rate re-mailer, I don't get the covertly intelligent cover stories from the
big guys.
Unfortuantely I have a little more work to do. It will have to wait until
next weekend when the Cray and satellite dish come in.
Couldn't resist either. <grin>
Seriously though, I feel pretty comfortable with the security now. But I
still have another layer to add.
Sort of like guns or boats for me, How many are enough? It will always be
"Just 1 more" <G>
Warm regards all,
Twisty Creek Admin

I don't recall implying any such thing. Someone else was attempting to read
into what I wrote on the my web site.
I tried my darndest to fix them after that. I suggest you route through Tor
and visit the site. I think I have it down fairly clearly what I will,
won't, or cannot do.
best regards,
