Author is an 'anonymous' on-line business possible?

I was made redundant last year and just can't seem to get another post. I have this idea for an online consulting business, which wouldn't need any 'real' addresses because there'd be no material product to deliver, and clients could pay money straight in
to my bank. The problem is, I'm on welfare, and if I was open about what I planned to do, there'd be a mountain of forms to fill out, and I'd probably only get to keep a tiny fraction of what I earned. So I'd like to know of any tips and ideas to help me
keep myself from being traced back to my home and my real name, should 'The Authorities' spot my website. Are there any good websites that deal with this topic? What's the best web provider to use? Do you have to have a bank account that isn't in your own
name? What's the best type of on-line payment company to use? As you can guess, I'm a total newbie at all this, so I'd be very thankful for any advice that people here can give me.

Welfare shouldnt be hard to dodge but watch out for the IRS which you will also have to dodge.

I doubt the Authorities will spot your site by accident, you will screw up or somebody will report you. Keep your mouth shut.

Get a private mail box for all business mail. Register your site in a fake name w/ that addy & pay w/ a Money order, ditto your site hosting. There are services which accept MOs.

should be needless to say but do nothing locally, work only for clients in other states.

e-gold is best for payment but not many clients use it. Depending on your business clients wont mind making out checks to your personal name but I dont have any good advise on cashing them w/out running them thru your bank.

good luck

Now you know why most drug-dealers prefer cash!
