Hi all,

Some months ago I wanted to find a way to read all of the usenet posts anonymously. Yes, I like
to look at non-watered down porn but nothing evil (like kiddie porn). After some searching on the web
I selected Usenet-Access.com based on their stated policy of "uncensored access" and no retained records.

I was able to get an account anonymously using a money order and a throw-away email account. I
had to pay extra for this feature and also a minimum 6 months of service.

Well, I'm here to tell you that their stated policy is BULLSHIT! After about 3 months of service I
could no longer access anything in alt.binaries or many other groups with adult content. Their help
desk wouldn't even admit to the problem and kept pushing me toward using newsreader software (I currently use the web based interface through a
web based proxy server for security reasons).

This all has the foul smell of law enforcement. But even if they're not the HLS, NSA, FBI
or whatever, the service SUCKS! I'd advise everyone who is looking for a similar service to
go elsewhere. Spend your money where you'll get what you paid for.

Remember - sex isn't dirty, it's a natural part of life and a small group of religious head cases
has NO RIGHT to censor it for the majority. Also remember that privacy is a basic human
right - not a privilege or a "liberty" as some would have you believe.

id you base this action on the word (preteen) embedded in the file name, or
do you know it is kiddy porn by virtue of actually having viewed that file?

Do you actually view all such suspicious file names?

Or, perhaps more likely, you only do it when someone complains. Now you
have shot your bolt and told the world what a shit service you offer your
customers. Plus telling us that if anybody complains you will publish some
damning evidence of their online activities. Come to think about it, we only
have your word for it that is what he was doing. A very neat way to worm
your way out of what might be a perfectly genuine complaint.

Thank God I don't use your shit service, or you would be posting something
just as damning about my activities, even if they were completely untrue.

You have just proven to the world that you 1. keep records of user
activity and 2. are prepared to use that info to your advantage. e.g
to counter any criticism of your service.

Your front page makes this claim:

"Private and anonymous - no logging of uploads nor downloads"

How can that possibly be true when you were able to out one of
your customers?

Your post proves you are a liar. What other false info is there
about your service?

I'm curious, how can you be so sure that the message originated
from netabuse@usenet-access.com? The message was sent via frell
remailer. Usenet-access would have no reason to use a remailer
would they? It looks like it could be a forgery to me. Of course,
that's just me. I'm often wrong!

Nothing of the sort, here Sid.

What it DOES definitively prove, is that you are one of those sad-sack
users that can't seen to find the time, nor muster the initiative to
read their TOS Agreement. Sheer laziness on your part.

As you obviously have other pressing engagements that prevent you from
doing so, let me quote for your convenience:

Snipped for brevity:

"You agree to not use the Service to: upload, post, email or otherwise
transmit any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive,
harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of
another’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise
objectionable; harm minors in any way; impersonate any person or entity,
including, but not limited to, a Usenet-Access.com official, forum
leader, guide or host, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your
affiliation with a person or entity;"

Now Sid, or whatever your moniker is, let's pause briefly and apply some
simple common sense here. How can the TOS ever possibly be enforced if a
service does NOT log? How would a service ever be able to beat spammers
and out pedos?

Their intentions could not be clearer ol' buddy.

But it sailed right by you.

Put the Egg Nog down and start on some good strong black coffee.

Let us just for a moment accept that you are the Sysop for Usenet-Access.com
Let us further accept (just for the sake of argument) that your carefully and
legally contructed TOS is valid. Now explain why you entice users by your
obviously lying statement "Private and anonymous - no logging of uploads nor
downloads"

You are either a bogus impersonater or if you really are from that news
provider, you are a tosser. A lying, scheming shithead of a misbegotten piece
of snot covered rag. You would try and entice people to use your service by
suggesting privacy and anonymity whereas you are (by your own admission above)
actually doing the opposite. You have proven you are not to be trusted.

What a crock of shit.

I subscribe (by CC) to a very good news provider. I am perfectly sure they most
certainly log anything I post and probably at the least which groups I read, if
not the actual articles. I am very careful to ensure I do nothing that could
even remotely be construed as illegal or against their TOS.
