What version of gcc are you using? I'm at:

% gcc -v
....
gcc version 4.0.1 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 5363)

(This is the latest XCode release, IIRC.)

This isn't really a libtool or httpd issue as the compiler is the one barfing
on the invalid argument. Are you using gcc 3.3? -- justin
