Hello,

Every once in a while when I try to enter data in a website search box,
Firefox Find function will spring to life and take over my text entry just as
if I had entered CTRL F. This appears to be random behavior that is not
specific to a particular website. My OS is Windows XP Pro. Any hints?

Its activating Find as you Type. You are probably not getting your
insertion point into the search box, so FF thinks you want to search the
page instead. Either be sure that your insertion point is really in the
box, or disable find as you type.

In FF 1.0.7:

Tools>>Options>>Advanced>>Accessibility

Uncheck the box.
