read? F'instance "starts with Ron" causes "ignore thread".

You can set filters to apply to a news server globally
or individual newsgroups

How? I'm using Mozilla 1.7.3. Tool>Message Filters...> doesn't seem
to offer a pick for that. Thanks.

Thunderbird allows such
In Mozilla suite
Select the news account then select Tools-->Message Filters
It will then open up the Message Filter dialogue with the account set to
the news account

Yes. But I'm looking for a way to make a global filter, one that
applies to all newsgroups that I read.
