headers problem in Thunderbird

| Hi everyone! When I go to download the headers for some of my
newsgroups, Thunderbird says it's trying to download something like
30456789 headers. This makes no sense of course. And it pretty much
hangs there...
Any one know what could be up? Is it a bewsreader issue or a news werver
issue? If it helps, I'm a Cogeco subscriber in Kingston, Ontario, Canada

What news server? What newsgroup?
