Weird file association

When I drag a URL onto my desktop (laptop) using IE, Avant, or FF I get an
icon with the FF logo on it and a message that before I can print, a printer
must be installed. What the hell is that about? If I do the same thing on my
desktop machine, I get an icon that opens that website in FF. Any clue as
what is happening here? TIA.
