I use TB 1.0 for my email client.

I would like to see TB check my email whenever I launch it. Is there a
setting for this?

I would like for whatever message I reply to be in a standard position
below my reply. But I see it above my reply. Isn't there a TB setting
that controls this?

update to version 1.5 and I'll be able to help you out. I have no
idea where the settings are in 1.0:
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.o...d/releases/1.5/

Then where are they in 1.5? Maybe they're there in 1.0 too!

M$ may use that format but top-posting is not so easy to follow, and
users tend not to trim enough !

They didn't change in this respect.

Its on an account by account setting.

Tools>>Account Settings>>(accountname)>>Server settings

Check the box for Check for new messages at startup.

Then, Composition and Addressing

Change to Start my reply above the quote.

Standard is in the eye of the beholder. In most newsgroups, bottom
posting is the standard, so TB defaults to that.

Email, it depends on the context, most email lists prefer bottom
posting, but for private correspondence, top posting is often the norm.
So TB allows you to change it by the the account.
