My dictionary and corrections

| Greetings -
Using Thunderbird 2.0.0.9 in Windows 2000 SP 4
When I write a message and want to put in "souffl=E9", while I am typing =
I can=20
only write "souffle". My spelling check picks up the latter, so I manual=
ly put=20
"souffl=E9" in the dictionary. Now when I put in "souffle" it gets flagg=
ed, but=20
the dictionary doesn't offer my "souffl=E9" as an option. When I go to c=
haracter=20
map, pick up the "=E9" and insert it manually, the spell checker removes =
the red=20
underline.
Frustrating. I had hoped that I would have a shortcut for souffle, saute=
, and a=20
whole other bunch of words.
Is there anything that I can do to improve the situation?

Install the French language dictionary?
Go to Edit...Preferences...(or Tools...Options... in Windows), Select
composition, go the the "Spelling" tab, and click "Download more
dictionaries."
