Go to Google, type "Firefox about :config" in the search field, and click
"I'm feeling lucky." Takes you straight to this page:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:...:config_Entries
That wasn't so hard, was it?

Maybe Firefox isn't the right browser for you, then?

Or he could just set *most* of that stuff, anything worth mentioning in fact,
from the "Tools, options..." dialogue.
Get FasterFox to mess with the cache settings, if you like.
You don't need about :config at all.
Now "about :plugins," I don't understand that at all. Why isn't that on the menu
like with the original Mozilla?

It is, at least in v2.0.0.3. Go to "Help...about :?" and you'll gey a
long list of about : options, including about :config and about :plugins

Hmmm. It's not there (?).
I'm running the Windows XP binary of Firefox 2.0.0.3.
The help menu looks like this:
|Help Contents F1 |
|For Internet Explorer Users |
|Release Notes |
|Report Broken Web Site... |
|Report Web Forgery... |
|-----------------------------------
|Check For Updates... |
|-----------------------------------
|About Mozilla Firefox |
And that last item just brings up a logo splash.
Maybe you have an extension you don't know about? More likely, Firefox was
dumbed down for Windows users. I'm still using 1.5.0.11 in my Linux boot
(Ubuntu/Gnome).
It's not like typing "about :whatever" in the address line is hard, anyways,
it's just inelegant.
Oh well, someone tell Mozilla we "need" another feature added. :^)

Ah, you're right. It's the "MR Tech Local Install" extension that
provides these entries: http://www.mrtech.com/extensions/local_install/
In any case, it's available for you should you want to try it.
