Lost Passwords, FF 2.0.0.3
|
|
|
| I was having trouble with some autofill fields and a tech at
Roadrunner.com (my e-mail server) told me to clear all personal data
to in effect reset all to zero. I did so with Prefbar, but it really
didn't work, but what it did was to delete all my Passwords. Then I
found I hadn't backed up my Profile.
How can I find the Password file if I do a WinXP restore?
If I had saved my Profile would that have saved the Password file?
Thanks for any help on this confusing issue.

The only way to find any passwords is to go to:
Tools/Password Manager/Manager Stored Passwords/Show Passwords
Seems to me that if your original Profile
is still there, your passwords are also.

Yes. The passwords of FF are stored in your profile in a file
called "signons2.txt".

Thanks Pete and Miller. I've now backed them up! I feel those are the
most important.
