| I recently upgraded my system hardware and had to reinstall Windows XP
in the process. Now I have discovered a strange problem:
I have _no_ audio when viewing videos on-line.
This is true in Firefox and IE, so I am not sure that has much of
anything to do with the browser.
My audio works everywhere else; it's only when I am viewing a video file
within a web-browser that I get no sound. I can see the picture so I
know that the various media plug-ins (Quicktime, Flash, etc.) are
working to that extent of giving me the video image.
I am using 5.1 surround sound coming from the mainboard (Asus board,
Realtek sound driver).
I really hope there is someone out there who can help me. I have
checked everything I know to check, from drivers to volume control
"mute" buttons.
