Apologies for following up my own thread but I have now found the Config
Edit which was under Options/tools/advanced/general. I have increased
the connection time to 180 seconds in the hope that it will cure my
problem.

Unfortunately, changing the number of seconds to 180 has had no effect
whatsoever, I still get the 'timed out' window after a short time,
certainly less than three minutes.
Anyone got any suggestions.
I can still send and receive messages by clicking the 'get' button
though, it's just something that's very annoying.
