Hello to you all. When I first installed Moz. 2.0.0.3 over the
previous version there was no Navigation toolbar. I found a reset
default option, the toolbar appeared, but with the Fwd, Back and
Reload buttons grayed. I have fiddled with all boxes in the Options
and View windows I felt were appropriate all to no avail, all seemed
to be correct anyway.

From the History dropdown the Back and Forward buttons are also
grayed. I can only move about in a limited way using the home option.

Obviously i'm not a computer genius, so help would be appreciated.
Browsing with Mozilla as it is currently operating is a real pain!

Thanks,

Wally

Aren't you talking about the news client:Thunderbird 2.0? I came online this morning with the same
complaint: I wasn't able to scroll through new messages because the < and > buttons were gray.
Using "N" worked, but I would like my buttons back. I didn't find anything to adjust, either.

No GM, have never used Thunderbird, or had it on any of my computers.

Just checked incase I had given the incorrect version but it clearly
says Mozilla Firefox.

Firefox version 2.0.0.3. Downloaded from the Mozilla site a few days
ago. Thanks for your comments anyway.

So folks am I the only one to experience this debilitating problem, or
is the solutions so simple that you are all too disgusted to reply?

Ah! I'm sorry. It happened that I was logging on to this NG to ask a Thunderbird question about
the absence of the Next button and when I came across your message I assumed that you had noticed
the same thing. Didn't pick up on the reference to "Home" etc.

OK - I'll start my own thread and wish you well.

If the problems aren't there while running the programs in safe mode,
you may have an incompatible theme or extension installed.

Many thanks for the assistance, but the installation is as Firefox
installed itself nothing third party, nothing changed except
legitimate option settings.

Due to the fact that FF was next to useless, and I needed some urgent
browsing, I dusted off old faithful IE which worked as expected!

Later I saved bookmark.html, uninstalled FF cleared the registry of
traces that I could find then reinstalled, same problem. Uninstalled.
Searched for everything beginning with moz or fire and deleted all
related files. Reinstalled, all works fine now...Wish I knew what the
problem was though!

All i have to do now is to paste bookmarks to the appropriate folder,
and change the options. (I hope)

Thanks again.

Well, since you (apparently) deleted all traces of the previous profile,
we'll never know what the problem was.

Next time, instead of that brute-force method of deleting stuff, be
aware of how FF works. Most likely, whatever was causing the problem
was in your Profile, not in the program installation. They are two
distinct and separate things. See:
http://mozilla.edmullen.net//moz_profile.html

Next time try launching FF in Safe Mode and/or creating a new profile to
test and see if the problem goes away. That is the quickest and easiest
way to see if the issue is with the Profile or not.

I too have those buttons Grayed.
Firefox keeps popping stupid alert messages.

This update is totally f*cked up.

One, if you snip out the entire previous thread, why bother posting a
reply here? Post it your own thread

Two, if you dont mention exactly WHAT 'stupid alert messages' you mean,
its diffiucult to assist you - how about stating what the alert
messaages say?

Three, 'this' update has been out since the 20th of March 2007, that's
over sixty days. Millions of users have updated to it with no problems
In other cases of this type the 'cause' is usually something within the
users control, not the programs. So what (or who) is totally miffed up then?
