Hi,

Yeah halts, what do I mean.
Well I mean it seems that after installing it has not made the
alterations the installation is supposed to do in the directory.
Because I can not get passed the installation procedure, after installing
when I try to login to the mailing list php application I get nowhere,
meaning it won't even let me get to the login page, because "it" suspects
that it is not installed, even if after installation it
says "Installation was a succes". Everytime I try to access login.php it
just takes me back to, "your installation is now done".
I'm sorry for my pour description, I don't really know how to explain it
better.
If You would andy, we can take this via email and You can have a look at
the php application installation, if You think you can help me.

TIA
Flemming

Generally installing a php script just involves unzipping or uploading
it in a web server folder. Is this script available for download anywhere?

No email support, let's stick to the forums.

Hi Andy,

I got the script from http://www.email-manager-pro.com/ and actually
installing it works fine, let me rephraze, it's the configuration after
installing it to the server that's causing trouble.
Cause after unpacking and uploading to the server, when you start the
application, you go through certain steps, I do that with no probs, and
it ends up with saying that the installation/configuration was
succesfull, even when I afterwards cannot get to the login in page.
Everytime I try to write in the address field of IE,
www.XXXX.dk/myemailprog/login.php it just takes me back to the succesfull
installation page, as if it has not realized I am done with the
configuration, as if it can not make the alterations in the core library
of the application, during configuration.

;) do You understand what I am trying to explain;)

TIA
Flemming

I understand. I guess the first thing to do would be to edit the
configuration script and see exactly what it's trying to do. Is it
trying to configure a database? Write a config file?

Well it seems to be accessing the sql database correctly, cause I can see
alterations in the database created for the application, so I think it
fails where it is trying to create/change a config file.
Sadly my knowledge to php is not so big as I would be able to analyze the
configuration file. I can give You access to the dir if You would like.
Maybe then U can find the configuration file. I could also zip the dir
and mail it to U.

I would suggest contacting the vendor of the script and see if they can
walk you thru a manual setup. Often you will have a config.inc or
config.inc.php file in your script folder that contains the
configuration for the script.

A couple things I would look at in your php config would be the includes
path and openbasedir directives in your php.ini file. Those are common
pitfalls.
