GD cause Apache unload

| Hi
Just installed GD extensions to php in order to get GALLERY2 app work.
PHPinfo shows GD extensions installed.
Whenever Gallery2 trying to do something with GDs Apache unloads due to:
"-----
Removed address space because of memory protection violation
Address space. APACHE2
Reason: Exception 3
Running Thread: Apache_worker 32
EIP: 0xfaa06c71 (USERLIB.nlm + 0xc71)
----"
Enviroment: NW6.0SP5/Apache2.0/PHP4.2.4-dev
Same app I have install at SUSE10/APACHE2 where aplication configuration
asked me to increase Apache2 mem usage due to graphics processing needs.
Assume that similar thing should be done at NW . Or, is it address space
problem here?
Any help would welcome.
Tnx
