php mysql timestamp function does not work on netware6.5....?

| Hi,
I'm using the timestamp data type to enter a date into a mysql database
and return that time to the screen using the date() and strtotime()
function but the date/time being returned is both random and incorrect
(decades out in most instances).
Here's what I've done:
I create the database table using date as a field name and timestamp as a
data type and I use the date() and strtotime() functions in php to send
the data to the browser and to format the date. This works fine on a
local windows apache2 server(localhost) but does not work with nw6.5
apache2 config. The time is set right on the netware box but when I look
at the date in the database it's entered as 00000000000000 and returns a
random date to the broswer.
Any clues as to why this is happening and how to fix...?
thanks

What version of PHP? Have you tried the builds at
http://www.gknw.com/php/dev/ ?
Failing that, I would post this in the php group on
developer-forums.novell.com
