I could give an example when I am back at work Monday. Yes, it is a manual
edit. It is possible that you can do it through the GUI Apache Admin, but I
have never tried. For me, editing config files has always worked best and I
feel I have the best control that way.

Yes, There is a wealth of information on Apache and Tomcat. You can easily
pick up any textbook on Apache, such as the O'Reilly one.
There is also lots of info from Novell, such as:

For the simple stuff, ir if you just need one domain, then just move the
document dir (and reference in httpd.conf) to another volume, then just drop
your html-files there.
