FTP administration with iManager

| I'm sure this is in the docs and I'm too stupid to find it, but . . .
If you have an OES NetWare box, with FTP installed, do you have to have
iManager 2.5 ALSO installed onto that same server in order to administer
the FTP portion?
Or can you have a "central" iManager server that can administer
"remote" FTP servers?
The reason I ask is that our iManager 2.5 server doesn't show FTP on it
as a choice (and FTP is not installed to that server, but rather a diff.
box).
